You can register and pay entry fees at these events, purchase tickets (via check), and ask questions. - Sun., Nov. 8, 6 p.m. ELEMENTS OF COMPETITION - personal interview - 25% - evening gown (party dress for Little Miss) - 25% - swimwear (sarongs are optional; casual wear for Little Miss) - 25% The remaining 25% of each preliminary score will come from pageant staff and perhaps a few former titleholders. Interview: Interview is an approx. 3-minute (Little Miss is 2-minute) private conversation with contestant and each judge. The judges will have read a 1-page info sheet about you that you will provide prior to your interview. They will ask you questions about yourself. They will be looking for articulate and concise responses, comfort level, personality, first impression, and self-confidence. All contestants should wear an age appropriate pants- or skirt-suit proper for an interview. 25% of preliminary score. Introduction: All contestants will introduce themselves on-stage for approx. 20 seconds, in the same outfit she wore in the interview room. There are no particular requirements for this intro, other than finishing it with "from (city where you live, work or attend school), I am contestant # (your contestant number), (first name, last name)." Not scored, but judges will see. Swimsuit: The Teen/Miss/Mrs. judges will be looking for energy, confidence, and physical fitness. Swimsuit can be a 1- or 2-piece in any color or pattern. Contestants may also utilize a sarong (you can wear it some, all or none of the time you in swimsuit). Swimsuits must be in good taste, and no thongs are allowed. We suggest wearing clear, lucite heels or skin tone shoes (but, any other color is also your choice) and panty hose is optional. Little Miss will wear casual outfits, not swimwear. 25% of preliminary score. Evening gown: Teen/Miss/Mrs. gowns should be floor-length, any color, any style, age-appropriate, tasteful and display true elegance and sophistication. Little Miss should wear a party dress of her choice (i.e. something she would wear to church or a wedding). Judges will be evaluating stage presence, poise, composure and overall presentation. Contestants will be escorted by their father; husband or wife; or another influential figure in her life. Escorts will need to purchase a ticket. You will be given approx. 30 minutes to prep before your interview. Yes, photography is welcome by spectators, from their seats. We'd like more contestants. Other than the above, visitors are not allowed in rehearsals or back stage during the pageant. |
